Anonymous voting

Anonymous voting for meetings, without a show of hands

Put a motion, a date or a budget to a vote. Members scan the QR code, vote on their phone without giving their name, and the totals appear on the big screen as votes arrive.

Why vote anonymously

With a show of hands, people watch the first hands go up before raising their own. When nobody can see who voted what, members vote for what they really think, and quiet voices count as much as loud ones.

  • No account, no email and no app for voters
  • Names appear only if you ask for first names
  • The screen shows totals, never who voted what
  • Voters can change their vote until you pause voting

The right format for each decision

Single choice suits a motion: for, against or abstain. Multiple choice approves several options at once, a ranking or 100 points sets priorities, and a rating scale scores several proposals in one question. Open text collects comments before the vote.

In the room and on the call

Show the QR code on screen for members in the room and paste the short link in the video call chat for the others. Everyone takes part in the same vote, and the waiting screen tells the room that answers are anonymous.

Questions

Is the vote really anonymous?

Yes, by default. Voters join without an account and give no name, and the screen shows only totals. Names appear only if you ask for first names, so leave that setting off for a vote.

Can I use Hopvote for an official election?

Hopvote suits consultative votes and decisions made in meetings. It does not verify the identity of voters. For elections regulated by law, such as official workplace elections, use a certified electronic voting system. For a general meeting, also check what your bylaws require.

Can remote members vote?

Yes. Share the short link in the meeting chat: people in the room and online vote in the same poll, from a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.

Is it free?

Yes to start. The free plan includes every question type, up to 80 participants and 5 questions per presentation. For a larger assembly, an Event Pass starts at €9, or choose Solo at €5 a month.
