A film quiz that is not only four buttons

Movies suit more than multiple choice. Ask for the order of release, a missing word in a famous line, the director behind each film, or play a few seconds of a theme and let the room name it. Each of those is its own question type in Hopvote.

  • Quiz with a timer for the Oscar and cast questions
  • Right order for a saga, fill in the blanks for quotes
  • Match pairs for directors and films
  • Video or audio to play a film theme from a link

Start easy, finish with a debate

Open with two questions everyone can answer, put the hard ones in the middle, and close with a poll about the next film to watch. The free plan allows five questions per presentation, so play one genre or decade per presentation, each with its own QR code.

Good for a cinema club or a movie night at work

Nobody installs anything: players join in their browser, in the language of their phone. Add your logo and colors on the big screen with a paid plan. For a full evening with several themes, see the quiz night and topic rounds pages.

How many movie trivia questions should I ask?

Ten to sixteen is a good quiz for about 30 minutes. Mix easy and hard questions, and add one or two polls so the room can take part even when it does not know the answer.

Can I play a film theme or a trailer?

Yes. The video or audio question plays a link from YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Spotify or Google Drive on the big screen. There is no upload, so use a link you are allowed to share. Then add a question asking players to name the film.

Is it free?

Yes to start: every question type, up to 80 participants and 5 questions per presentation, no credit card. The Event Pass is €9 and the Big Event Pass €29, paid once for 72 hours.

Do players need an account?

No. They scan the QR code or type hopvote.com and the 5-character code, then answer in their browser.
